Larry J. Melo DDS   Dr. Melo is dedicated to helping you achieve a radiant and healthy smile! He grew up in Montreal, Canada where he attended McGill University to obtain his Bachelor Of Science degree in Physiology. He then obtained the Doctor Of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit- Mercy in 1992. Dr. Melo completed a one year General Practice Residency at  St. Luke's Memorial Hospital in Utica, NY. He has been in private dental practice since 1993. As dentistry is a constantly evolving profession, Dr. Melo is a firm believer in continuing education and updating technology. He regularly attends training courses and study groups so that his patients can benefit from the latest advances, techniques and materials available. Dr. Melo is a member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, the Oneida- Herkimer Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Melo received his Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry in 2012. 

Dr. Melo and his wife Christine reside in Little Falls with their daughters Anna, Mary and Rose. 





Shazia Khattak DMD Dr. Khattak was raised in Reston, VA where she attended South Lakes High school. After graduation she continued her education at Marymount University in Arlington, VA. She 

received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2010.  Not long after, Dr. Khattak's education led her to Glendale, AZ where she attended Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in 2012.  After receiving her Doctorate of Dental Medicine, Dr. Khattak began a General Practice residency at St. Elizabeth's Hospital-Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH.  She completed her dental residency in 2017.  

Giving back to the community is also something she enjoys.  Dr. Khattak served on multiple occasions for Health Outreach through Medicine and Education(H.O.M.E.), Give Kids a Smile, Mission of Mercy as well as traveled around the world on a dental mission trip to serve the people of Tonga.  Lastly, she has been heavily involved in additional continuing education. Dr. Khattak is currently in the process of becoming an Affiliate Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) after completing 300 hours of continuing education through the AAID Maxicourse in Las Vegas and working towards becoming a Fellow in the American Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Khattak is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and she is a member of various organizations including the American Academy of Implant Dentistry,  the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. 

Dr. Khattak enjoys traveling, trying new foods and spending time with friends and family.


Karen Brown RDH  Karen graduated from Herkimer County Community College in 1997 with an A.A.S in Math/Science before going on to Onondaga Community College for Dental Hygiene.  She completed her Dental Hygiene Degree in 2000 and has worked for Dr. Melo since that time.  Karen is a member of the American Dental Hygienist Association.  She is committed to helping her patients understand the importance of oral hygiene.  Not only to preserve their smiles and function but also to maintain and/or improve their overall health.  She is excited about new technologies in the Dental Health field.  Karen enjoys seeing the positive changes in her patients' oral health. 

Karen Lives in Mohawk with her husband Jeremy.  She has three children; Aaron, Abby and Leah and one   granddaughter Kimberly.  


Jennifer Ammermann RDH  Jennifer graduated from Hudson Valley Community College in Albany, NY in 2005 with an A.A.S. in Dental Hygiene.  She went on to receive her Certificate to Administer and Monitor Local Infiltration Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide Analgesia in 2006.  She is committed to helping people and to develop lasting relationships by promoting health and wellness with dental hygiene care.  Jennifer prides herself in staying current with the latest research in preventative oral care.  Jennifer is also a certified Phlebotomist, which is useful in assisting Dr. Melo and Dr. Khattak with bone graft healing with dental implant cases. Jennifer has been working for Dr. Melo since 1999.  She began her career with Dr. Melo as a receptionist.  Jennifer also worked as a dental assistant before going on to college to get her dental hygiene degree.  She has worked for Dr. Melo as a Dental Hygienist since 2010.  

Jennifer resides in Little Falls, NY with her partner Allen.  She has two children, Karly and Kayleigh and 5 grandchildren.
